Journalism Day

Journalism Day - January '07
On January 20, the Palm Beach Association of Black Journalists held its first Journalism Day with students from Boynton Beach High School. WPEC Channel 12 hosted the event. Channel 12 Executive News Director Steve Hunsicker and morning news show producer Rusonda Solomon gave students and PBABJ members a tour of the station and explained how daily newscasts are put together. Afterward, Solomon, C.B. Hanif, editorial page editor for the Palm Beach Post, and Rhonda Swan, assistant metro editor at the Palm Beach Post, served on a panel and answered questions from students about journalism careers. Palm Beach Post reporter Lady Hereford moderated the panel.
